Green Vent by Alex Nunez
_The pulse of the music kept at a rhythm
So consistent it was addicting
So mind-numbing
You begin to lose the feel for what you do
What is around you
Everything becomes vibrant
The beams, the colored light, and the cheesy disco
ball
Everything brings upon a new light that makes all those
around you appear attractive
The hypnotizing dancing, the excessive glitter and
jewelry
Everything becomes so disorienting
Claustrophobic
The lights become darker and darker
The lights and sound shut off
A green path appears, so small
I barely fit
Its metallic green
reflected by what is the end
I crawl towards the light at the end
Hearing the faint music
Its thumping beat shaking the crawlspace
I look through the vent
Wait…. How the heck did I end up in a vent!?
